Dr. Charles Semelka is an early-career physician scientist and assistant professor of medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He works as geriatrician and certified medical director with a clinical focus in the nursing home and primary care. His research interests include resilience and recovery in post-acute care. He went to medical school at UNC Chapel Hill. He completed internal medicine residency and geriatric medicine fellowship at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He earned a master’s degree in translational health science at Wake Forest while completing a T32 Research Fellowship prior to his faculty appointment. He is currently a Pepper Center REC scholar and pursuing research using aging biomarkers.
