Mark A. Espeland is a Professor in the Divisions of Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine and Public Health Sciences at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. His PhD is from the University of Rochester in Statistics. He has been at Wake Forest since 1986 and headed its biostatistics unit for 11 years. He is a fellow of the American Statistical Association, the Society for Clinical Trials, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Gerontological Society of America. He has authored/co-authored over 450 methodological and biomedical journal articles. His research currently probes interfaces among aging, diabetes, cognition, sex, and lifestyle.
