r. Lyndsay DeGroot, PhD, RN, CNE, is a nurse scientist, educator, and leader dedicated to integrating palliative care across care settings for people with serious illness. Inspired by her ICU nursing experience, her research focuses on implementing evidence-based palliative care interventions in ambulatory settings for older adults with heart failure or COPD. She earned her PhD from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, where her F31-funded doctoral research examined the palliative care needs of community-dwelling older adults with heart failure and physical frailty. Currently, she is a T32 postdoctoral fellow at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, with a focus on the intersection of palliative care, aging, and implementation science.
