Justin Wangying Lam is currently an M1 student at the Zucker School of Medicine. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor's of Science in both Biomedical Engineering and Chemical Engineering. His past research experience is focused on understanding age, mobility, and independence. Justin’s current research interests also include age-friendly principles, such as accessibility in technology. In the past two years, Justin worked at the Inclusive Mobility Laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh in researching human factors to develop accessibility guidelines for autonomous vehicles. In 2023, he received the RERC on AAC award from the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) and the James McKenney Travel award from GSA. He is now currently working with Dr. Walter Boot at Weil Cornell's Center on Aging and Behavioral Research to understand facilitators and barriers to use of wearable technologies. He is also working with Dr. Edith Burns and Susan Kwiatek at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research to identify age-friendly care compliance measures within the Northwell Health System.
