Boston, Massachusetts, United States
Dr. On-Yee (Amy) Lo is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and an Assistant Scientist in the Center for Translational Research in Mobilit and Falls at Hebrew SeniorLife's Hinda and Arthur Marcus Institute for Aging Research. Dr. Lo has dedicated her career to prevent falls, promote functional independence, and prolong quality of life in older adults. She has expertise and experiences in physical therapy/geriatric rehabilitation, physical activity/exercise physiology, movement/gait science, cognitive/behavior neuroscience, neuroimaging, and neuromoduation. Her expertise and experiences have equipped her to 1) investigate the underlying neural mechanism of center control of gait and mobility from healthy young, healthy older, to older adults with functional limitations, 2) develop innovative tools to measure remote gait and mobility assessment as well as novel interventions to improve gait and mobility via optimization of center control systems, and 3) implement effective, evidence-based, central-control-embodied rehabilitative strategies via a patient-centered approach.
