Sylvain Moreno, PhD, serves as an Associate Professor of Computational Neuroscience at Simon Fraser University's School of Interactive Arts and Technology. He is also a Special Advisor to the Vice-President Research and International Office and the Scientific Director of the AGE-WELL National Innovation Hub: Circle Innovation (www.circleinnovation.ca). Dr. Moreno's research is centered on the study of brain plasticity and its potential to enhance longevity. His multifaceted research program employs a variety of testing platforms, including computational models, genetic analysis, and neuroimaging techniques.
A distinguished member of the New York Academy of Sciences since 2006, Dr. Moreno is also affiliated with numerous other prestigious scientific organizations. He has received several notable accolades, including The Brainstorm Innovation Prize from Stanford Medical School in 2017. His pioneering work has been widely recognized and featured in major media outlets, such as The New York Times, highlighting its significant impact on the field of neuroscience.
