Research Fellow
University of Haifa
Haifa, Hefa, Israel
I have a Ph.D. degree in Social Psychology and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in The Cheryl Spencer Department of Nursing, University of Haifa. The focus of my post-doc research is on psychological aspects of later life and informal caregiving such as the connection between caregiving and depression of hospitalized older adults.
Currently, I’m working as a Research Coordinator at The Minerva Center on Intersectionality in Aging, as a lecturer at Sheanan College of Education, and as a statistical consultant at the Research Center of Gordon College.
My professional background in Social Psychology shaped my interest in cultural differences among older people in Israel, their quality of life, opportunities and difficulties, accessibility of treatment, and care. I’ve participated in research on cultural differences, presenting papers at conferences (“Is cultural background related to informal care of hospitalized older adults?” IAGG 2019; “Minority status and readmissions: A moderated mediation model of caregivers’ health literacy”, GSA 2020) and publishing an article in a peer-review journal (Shulyaev, Gur-Yaish, Shadmi, & Zisberg 2020). My future research and professional development plan includes analysis of cultural differences of older adults and of their caregivers using both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
