Alexander Garbin, PT, DPT, PhD, is Research Health Scientist in the Eastern Colorado VA Healthcare System Geriatrics, Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) and Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. While receiving his doctoral training at the University of Southern California, Dr. Garbin employed large datasets to investigate sources of heightened fall risk in older adults with a fear of falling. Dr. Garbin’s current work emphasizes understanding and reducing fall risk in older adults and Veterans by implementing routine walking speed assessments in primary care and exploring prevalence and perceptions of fall risk in older Veterans.
