Jingyi Li has extensive experience in clinical, educational, and administrative roles focused on geriatric care. With a decade of experience as a registered nurse, she has worked in various capacities within skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. Jingyi is adept at collecting and compiling essential health data from nursing home residents, which she uses to support research, insurance claims, and quality improvement initiatives.
In the educational realm, Jingyi has taught nursing at both undergraduate and graduate levels, developed dementia care curricula, and contributed to nursing professional development. Administratively, she has served as a health services director in an assisted living facility that primarily serves Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) populations.
Currently, Jingyi is an assistant professor at the University of Washington Tacoma. Her research primarily focuses on evaluating and translating evidence-based, non-pharmacological interventions to enhance the care and quality of life for older adults with dementia and their family caregivers. Additionally, she holds the position of vice president of the Pacific-Northwest Chinese Nurses Association and is an active member of the Gerontological Society of America, the Western Institute of Nursing, and the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.

(1) Extending the scope of the translation of Reducing Disabilities in Alzheimer’s Disease (RDAD) intervention.
(2) Developing dementia care curriculum and education programs to prepare a culturally competent dementia care workforce aiming to eliminate health disparities and address discrimination in dementia care.
