Lyn M. Holley, PhD, FAGHE, EIC is the Chuck Powell Professor in the Department of Gerontology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, a Fellow of the national GSA Academy for Higher Education . She teaches gerontology from a lifespan, life-long learning perspective, Her classes are almost all taught in the “Hybrid” (simultaneous in-person – virtual) format, and engage students in Service Learning. She teaches and develops curriculum collaboratively with international partners. Her courses (except for the graduate theory course) give UNO students the opportunity to apply what they learn through service to the community that engages youth with elders. She is the recipient of awards for teaching excellence which include the 2009 UNO Alumni Association Teacher of the Year Award, the 2010 UNO Faculty Service Learning Award and her college’s nomination for the 2014 OTICA. Dr. Holley does research to help improve services for older adults - in general and for minority elders, also to help improve intergenerational relationships and relevant pedagogies. She has published articles in several journals, including “The Gerontologist,” “Educational Gerontology,” “Gerontology and Geriatrics Education”, and “Public Performance Management Review”., and has served as Vice-President of the UNO Faculty Senate. She earned her B.A. from American University in 1964, her M.P.A. from UNO in 1995 and her Ph.D. from UNO in 1999. Her early career was in Industrial/Organizational Psychology in the US Federal Service and the United Nations.. She also has served in the US Army Reserve. After working in gerontology research at the University of Kansas and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, she joined the UNO faculty in 2004
