Lea Efird-Green, MSW, MPA, is a PhD student in the School of Social Work and a research project manager in the Program on Aging, Chronic Illness, and Long-Term Care at the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Program's projects focus on the quality of care and quality of life of older adults and on the well-being of the people who provide their care to inform practice and policy. She has overseen projects related to direct caregiver stress, coping, and resilience; reconstructing person-centeredness; accreditation in assisted living communities; and the development of a community-engaged dementia-friendly quality of life measure. She also serves as coordinator of the Center for Excellence in Assisted Living at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (CEAL@UNC). Her research experience includes primary data collection, systematic reviews, measurement development, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and project and program development and implementation.
