Dr. Degenholtz is Professor of Health Policy and Management, Faculty Affiliate of the Center for Bioethics and Health Law, and faculty of the Medicaid Research Center. He was the Founding Director of the Doctoral Program in Health Services Research and Policy. Dr. Degenholtz is a health services researcher who focuses on long-term care and aging. He is currently the lead for a mixed methods evaluation of Pennsyvania's Medicaid Manged Long-term Services and Supports Program and is also evaluating the Age-Friendly Nursing Home initiative.
He is a member of AcademyHealth and a Fellow in the Gerontological Society of America. He is the Social Media Editor of The Gerontologist, Associate Editor for LTSS for Innovation in Aging and on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Aging and Social Policy.
He is currently Vice-Chair Elect of the Social Research, Policy, and Practice (SRPP) Section of GSA.
