Gretchen is a passionate nutrition communicator and public health professional with a multifaceted background in nonprofit, international organization, clinical, and industry settings. As NCOA’s Associate Director for Health & Wellness at the Center for Healthy Aging, she applies her diverse skills set to improve the quality of life for older adults through the advancement of strategic priorities, partnerships, and thought leadership around current and emerging areas of focus such as obesity, bone health; nutrition security; food-is-medicine; and other consumer- and market-based initiatives.
Prior to joining NCOA, she worked with the Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) as a registered dietitian. Her industry roles preceding her clinical experience at HCSG included being a nutrition scientist at Mead Johnson Nutrition (MJN) followed by the Associate Manager for Technical Communications of the MJN Pediatric Nutrition institute. Prior to MJN, she was a nutrition program coordinator at the International Food Information Council (IFIC) and a Volunteer for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.
Gretchen holds a dual masters degree in Nutrition Communication and Health Services Management & Policy from Tufts University. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Community Nutrition from the University of the Philippines (cum laude). She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and represents NCOA at the Obesity Care Advocacy Network and the Oral Health Alliance.
