Postdoctoral Associate
University of Southern California

Dr. Eunyoung Choi is a postdoctoral associate at the Leonard Davis School of Gerontology, University of Southern California (USC). She earned her PhD in Gerontology from USC in 2022 and subsequently completed postdoctoral training at the School of Global Public Health, New York University, before rejoining USC. Dr. Choi specializes in examining the impact of environmental factors on cognitive health disparities among older adults, incorporating biopsychosocial approaches into Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) research.
Her ongoing projects explore a range of topics: the effects of neighborhood stressors on epigenetic aging; assessing the effects of ethnic enclaves on mental health and cardiometabolic risks in Asian American populations; the psychosocial pathways linking neighborhood environments and dementia, which are partially supported by pilot grants awarded from NIH-sponsored centers. Dr. Choi's more recent investigations aim to elucidate how climate hazards affect ADRD risks, with a particular focus on identifying specific psychosocial vulnerability and resilience factors involved.
