Sari B. Shuman, MPH, MSW is a senior research public health analyst in the Aging, Disability, and Long-Term Care Program at RTI International and co-director of the National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center funded by the Administration for Community Living (ACL). She has 22 years of experience related to health and health care issues in several areas, including Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, older adults, Medicaid, and Medicare. Ms. Shuman’s work through the National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center focuses on administering activities of the Resource Center, providing technical assistance to ACL and its grantees, and providing educational programming for organizations that deliver services and supports to people with dementia and their caregivers. Ms. Shuman has co-authored numerous reports on dementia-related topics, including caregiving for people with non-Alzheimer’s dementia, care needs and supportive approaches for people with dementia, translation and implementation of care and services for people with dementia and their caregivers, and dementia care models. Before joining RTI, she worked at the Alzheimer’s Association National Office through the Alzheimer’s Disease Supportive Services Program National Resource Center for 4 years and at the United States Government Accountability Office for 9 years.
