Brianna Soulie is a doctoral candidate at Florida State University. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Sociology. Her specializations include aging, embodiment, gender studies, and sexuality. Her research, conducted for her Master's thesis, focuses on three different processes of withdrawing from age-related beauty work. Conditional disengagement hinged on retirement status, supported disengagement hinged on relationship status, and active repudiation followed a practical disengagement due to health concerns. Her research also explores how each of these processes challenge ageism in different ways.
