Alison Chasteen, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto. Prof. Chasteen is a social psychologist with specialized training in aging and cognition. She is one of the foremost experts on stereotyping, prejudice, and stigma within the context of aging. With funding from the Social Sciences & Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), the Natural Sciences & Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), she has over 100 publications that span outlets in social and cognitive psychology and gerontology. She is the Principal Investigator of the Intergroup Relations Lab and is a member of Team 17 of the Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging. Prof. Chasteen is a fellow of the Association for Psychological Science, the American Psychological Association, the Gerontological Association of America, the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, and the Society for Experimental Social Psychology.
