My research primarily centers on the epigenetic and transcriptional changes that occur during aging and cellular senescence. As a core faculty member at Brown University’s Center for Computational Molecular Biology and the Associate Director of the Brown Center for the Biology of Aging, my lab is deeply engaged in investigating genomic and epigenomic instability related to aging. We are also actively developing biomarkers for these processes.
Our laboratory utilizes high-throughput experimental approaches, including single-cell transcriptomics and epigenomics, complemented by spatial multiomics techniques such as oligopaints microscopy and STORM microscopy. These tools allow us to delve into the epigenomic and transcriptional dynamics associated with aging and cellular senescence. Recently, our research has focused on leveraging single-cell techniques to examine the heterogeneity of senescent cells, particularly in cell culture models.
