Komal Patel Murali, PhD, RN, ACNP-BC is an assistant professor at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing interested in health services, health equity, and end-of-life care research. Currently funded by a National Institute on Aging IMPACT Collaboratory Career Development Award (U54AG063546) and K23 Career Development Award (K23AG083125), Dr. Murali is developing and testing a health equity-informed culturally sensitive care management intervention to optimize communication and transitional care to hospice for persons with dementia and their caregivers in home healthcare. An additional line of inquiry focuses on understanding access to caregiving support in faith-based settings for South Asian caregivers of older adults with multiple chronic conditions, which is currently funded by a Rutgers-NYU Center for Asian Health Promotion and Equity (CAHPE) Pilot Grant (P50MD017356-01).
