Dr. Candace Parker-Autry is an Associate Professor at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, N.C where she serves as a Urogynecologist and Clinical Researcher with a focus on the clinical care of women with geriatric incontinence. In addition to her clinical practice and research, she serves a surgical teacher in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Urology and is core faculty in their Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship. She received her Medical Doctorate from Wake Forest School of Medicine, her residency in OB/GYN from the University of Pennsylvania, and fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her research has been NIH funded and focuses on elevating our knowledge and treatment for the geriatric incontinence syndrome. When she is not actively caring for women, she is being a wife to Orin Autry and mother to Caleb and Noah Autry. Yet, she is incredibly active in her local and professional communities. During the peak of the COVID19 pandemic, she led the effort to screen underserved and historically black communities in Forsyth County NC with sponsorship of the Old North State Medical Society. She is hair of the Scientific and Community Outreach committees of the Twin City Medical Society and in that position organized education events for her local community on heart health, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes prevention, and healthy lifestyle at events associated with Juneteeth, local health fairs, and church-based events. Currently, she is serving as the President of the Twin City Medical Society, the only historically black professional society for ethnic-minority physicians in the broader Forsyth County community.
