Megan E. Gately, PhD, OTD, OTR/L, is Occupational Therapy Health Scientist at the New England Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) at the VA Bedford Health Care System. As an occupational therapy clinician researcher at a geriatrics center of excellence, Dr. Gately utilizes mixed methods to examine how innovative care strategies can be optimized to reduce barriers to care. Specifically, her research aims to understand how telehealth can be adapted to meet the needs of older adults and those with complex chronic conditions. With her background in clinical and translational research, she examines implementation of occupational therapy telehealth, including how OT can be optimized for remote delivery to meet the functional and quality of life needs of populations with diverse needs.
