I am a nurse scientist and Assistant Professor at Widener University. My research informs aging and home-based care delivery policies to improve health equity for older adults with complex health and social needs (i.e., persons with dementia). I am interested in (1) better understanding systems of community-based care (e.g., home health care, home and community-based services) and how their availability and quality may vary by social and contextual factors; and (2) strengthening the nursing and direct care workforce that provide community-based care to older adults. I earned my PhD in Nursing Science at Rutgers University, then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Health Services and Outcomes Research T32 program at Johns Hopkins University. My current work, funded through the NIA-funded Hopkins’ Economics of Alzheimer’s Disease & Services (HEADS) Center, explores variations in home health utilization among older adults with dementia by traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage.
