Omolola E. Adepoju, PhD

I am a health services researcher and Clinical Associate Professor in the department of Health Systems and Population Health Sciences, University of Houston Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine. I also serve as research director at the Humana Integrated Health Systems Institute, an academic-industry partnership dedicated to integrating social and medical data to drive evidence-based practices in real-world settings. In this role, I leverage my strong quantitative expertise using big data curated from large claims datasets and electronic medical records, a skill cultivated while serving as the Associate Director of Health Economics at Optum/UnitedHealth Group. My work uses robust multidisciplinary methodologies to uncover patterns that promote individual and population health outcomes to alleviate cost, quality and access-to-care issues in vulnerable populations, particularly minoritized groups and older adults. In contextualizing these findings, I work directly with clinical and community partners to promote evidence-based practices.
