Dr. Scheunemann is an Assistant Professor of Geriatrics and Pulmonary and Critical Care at the University of Pittsburgh. Her laboratory focuses on using community engagement to adapt and test interventions to improve care for vulnerable populations of critical illness survivors and their family care partners. This research integratessuccessful interventions from other contexts to provide transitional care coordination, health management, rehabilitation, and social support to families after critical illness. The focus is on accessible, scalable, equitable models of care delivery in order to promote population health for critical illness survivors and their family caregivers in under-served rural and urban communities.
