Dr. Lauren Bouchard is an Assistant Professor of Gerontology: Aging & Older Adulthood at Western Oregon University in Monmouth, Oregon. They utilize mixed methodology and qualitative research to explore aging, community, and relationships. Dr. Bouchard’s current research interests include resilience narratives, social connectedness, LGBT aging, and physician experiences of caregiving. They have published research in the Journal of Career Development, Journal of Religion, Spirituality and Aging, Journal of Aging and Mental Health, and the Clinical Gerontologist. Dr. Bouchard is a proud and active member of the Academy for Gerontology in Higher Education (AGHE) section of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA). They are the founding faculty advisor of the GSA Student Chapter at Portland State University and the forthcoming chapter at Western Oregon University.
