Saori Yasumoto, PhD in Sociology, is an associate professor at the Graduate School of Human Sciences, Osaka University, Japan. Her research interests include social cognition, family, culture, cross-national research, aging, life course, and qualitative research methods. Currently, she is interested in people’s attitudes toward aging, which impacts healthy aging and longevity. Using the longitudinal qualitative interview approach, she tries to understand how social contexts and human interaction influence people’s attitudes toward aging. She is also interested in the qualitative interview methods applicable in cross-national settings.
