Assistant Professor
Drexel University
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
I am an assistant professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Drexel’s Dornsife School of Public Health with a secondary appointment in Nursing at Drexel’s College of Nursing and Health Professions. I am a faculty fellow of the NIH-funded Drexel FIRST (Faculty Institutional Recruitment for Sustainable Transformation) program (U54CA267735) that aims to transform the culture at NIH-funded extramural institutions by building a self-reinforcing community of scientists committed to diversity and inclusive excellence. I am a developmental and health inequities scholar interested in understanding the intersectional impact of life course socioeconomic status (SES) and race/ethnicity as critical social factors that differentiate access to gain and accumulate resources that promote health and avoid diseases, especially accelerated aging and age-related chronic diseases. My works combine lifespan development and life course frameworks to examine the complex biopsychosocial mechanisms (e.g., psychosocial stress, inflammation) that link life course SES to disparities in accelerated aging and age-related chronic diseases.
