Dr. Jung-Ah Lee is a Professor and Associate Dean for DEIB at University of California, Irvine (UCI), Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing. She is a nurse scientist with expertise in gerontology. Her research focuses primarily on translational approach to improve care delivery and quality of life for older patients and caregivers. Within this focus, a recurring theme of her work is to explore racial and ethnic disparities in quality of care. Culturally sensitive approaches to care delivery in chronic diseases including dementia a primary consideration of her research. Currently, Dr. Lee is the primary principal investigator of NIH/NIA funded dementia caregiver support study as well as key co-investigator on several federal and state funded programs regarding dementia care aware and informal caregiver training. Dr. Lee serves as President of American Asian and Pacific Islander Nurses Association (AAPINA) to contribute to advancement of diversity/equity/inclusion/belongings in healthcare system. Recentely Dr. Lee was inducted into the Hall of Fame International Nurse Researchers by Sigma Nursing Honor Society.
