Dr. A. Lynn Snow is a professor at The University of Alabama (Alabama Research Institute on Aging & Department of Psychology – Clinical Specialty, Geropsychology Area) and the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center (Research & Development Service). She was a founding co-director of VA CONCERT (VA Community Living Centers’ and State Veterans Homes’ Ongoing National Center for Enhancing Resources & Training) and continues to serve as national consultant. She began working in nursing homes when she was 17, and her clinical and research agendas have focused on the long-term care setting for her entire career. Her clinical expertise is in dementia care, particularly assessment and treatment of pain, depression, and anxiety co-morbid with dementia. She also has training and experience in mindfulness-based psychotherapies and long experience as a meditation teacher. Her research agenda broadly focuses on nursing home quality of care and dementia care, specifically implementation of organizational change in nursing homes to achieve high-functioning nursing home teams and higher quality person-centered care. Her research has been continuously federally funded since 2000. She has published over 110 peer-reviewed scientific articles.
